On the 15th July, Dr. Lepre delivered an interesting online presentation to participants that were invited from the Malta Innovation Forum Network. The presentation highlighted that customers are increasingly aware of the corporate impact on society and the environment, and are more likely to choose brands with a positive reputation. Similarly, potential employees are more drawn to companies which are purpose-driven.
Forward-thinking business leaders who acknowledge this stand to gain by implementing ethical, responsible and sustainable business practices into their operations and injecting a sense of purpose into their corporate culture. Besides complying with the law and enhancing brand image, a Corporate sustainability strategy can also help businesses become more innovative and competitive, amongst other benefits. If developed strategically, a Corporate sustainability plan can be a valuable tool through which to develop innovative solutions to address some pressing and current business challenges, including the need to attract and retain valuable employees, increasing customer loyalty and satisfaction, product/service innovation, and staying ahead of the competition.
